Application Engineer SAP
40 hours per week, hybrid in Venlo (NL)

 

What You’ll Do

As Application Engineer SAP you work on renewal, maintenance and management of SAP ERP based applications supporting production and quality processes in particular.

 

You ensure optimal alignment of the SAP application portfolio with the functional requirements of the users. You identify user requirements, incorporate these in a functional/technical design, and realize and implement the proposed solutions. With your professional knowledge and vision, you are a discussion partner in the field of business process renewal. You know how to translate the needs of the customer and processes into a progressive design and configuration within the established application architecture.

 

Together with your colleagues, you contribute to the development of the working methods in the team.

 

Who you’ll work with

You’ll be working closely with the business process experts of our internal customers and your direct colleagues within your own team as well as with colleagues from other ICS departments and other sites. The processes are mainly used at two production sites: Venlo in the Netherlands and Poing in Germany. Communication with the SAP users in Germany is mostly virtual via Teams (in English), but sometimes travel will be necessary.

 

What you'll bring

We are looking for an ambitious IT professional who wants to excel in SAP. You have strong analytical skills, are persuasive, stress resistant and you have an interest in business processes in general and manufacturing processes in particular. Furthermore, you meet the following requirements:

 

  • Bachelor degree in Technical Computing, Supply Chain Management or similar
  • About 5-10 years of experience with SAP ECC or S/4 HANA
  • You are enterprising, customer-oriented, quality conscious, and see a challenge in preventing problems
  • You have good communication skills and an excellent command of the Dutch and English languages, both verbally and in writing

Our ideal candidate is familiar with SAP software supporting production (PP)- or maintenance (PM) processes and has software development skills in S/4 or has knowledge of ABAP programming language. In addition, you have experience with software development projects and change management processes.
