Assembly Operations Supervisor
40 hours per week

 

What You’ll Do

In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day planning, coordination and execution of the operational activities of the assembly operation. You need to be able to keep a very safe workplace for the staff, lead by example on the floor, in cooperation with your peers. Lean manufacturing is the key word of this important responsibility, as well as capacity planning for your staff of approx. 30 assembly operators. These operators make sure our assemblyline is running efficiently with the right output at the right time.   

Since 2 assemblylines are recently set up for new product introductions, you will be interacting a lot with indirect departments as well as R&D. There will be many change implementations that need to be co-ordinated and the continuous improvement potential is high.

 

Furthermore, You’ll be responsible for:

 

  • setting up the short and mid-term staffing plans including skillmatrix and monitoring the continuity, so that operation flows smoothly
  • take care of problems, discuss it with the involved parties and solve them correctly, by using modern means and methodes to come to a fast and efficient solution
  • have an eye for critical situations in the factory environment and keep physical and mental Health and Safety standards at industry levels. Zero incidents is our main goal and the highest priority
  • coach and motivate your team to achieve the set goals and targets
  • signal improvements, translate them into efficient proposals and implement them via working methods as LEAN manufacturing, Kaizen and 5S, participate in 8Ds where applicable
  • you are responsible for the annual Human Ressource cycles of Canon which is to generate the task settings of your staff, the development talks of your team and at the end of the year the performance reviews of each individual.
  • you discuss with other Operations Supervisors new team members and organize a needed staff level for the orders in manufacturing and logistics

The location is based in Venlo, you report directly to the Operations manager.

What You Bring

  • you have a Bachelor’s or AD degree, preferably in a technical direction
  • approximately 5 years of experience of which 2 years in a supervisor postion, preferably within a production environment
  • strong leadership skills
  • proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • experience in working and acting on Key Performance Indicators
  • strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
  • fulltime (40 hours) available (on site)
