Company: Canon Production Printing

Canon

Are you a Industrial Engineering student looking for a challenging internship? Help us optimize our information transfer processes and enhance factory efficiency at Canon Production Printing in Venlo. Gain valuable experience, work with a multidisciplinary team, and help us improving.

Your assignment
Ensuring the right information is available at the right place is crucial in a 24/7 production environment with multiple shifts. Without accurate information, the factory's status remains unclear, making it difficult for support departments to identify and address issues. Sharing the correct information maximizes the factory's output and quality.
Currently, operators use various methods to share information with each other and support departments. This often results in communicating the same information in multiple places, which is seen as waste and time-consuming.
In addition to sending information, it's essential for operators to have the right information to operate the machines. We have a factory documentation system, but is it optimal for operators, or can we improve it (linking with Industry 4.0, AI)?
Through a DMAIC project, you will determine what information is important and how to ensure it reaches the right place without taking too much time from the operators. The goal is to optimize our information transfer on the production floor.
This project takes place within the EPG and Toner departments at Manufacturing 2 at Canon Production Printing in Venlo.
