Your assignment
During this internship, you will combine analytical research with hands-on operational activities within the Inbound Supply Chain Planning team. The operational work will give you valuable insight into daily planning processes and will directly contribute to your research assignment.
The core of your internship consists of a clearly defined research project within the planning process. Main research question: "How can we reduce the administrative workload of our standard way of working, without losing information quality or transferability?"
Your tasks include:
- Analysing the current way of working within Inbound Planning
- Mapping administrative activities, information flows and bottlenecks
- Gathering input from planners and other involved departments
- Developing a well-founded improvement proposal for a more efficient and standardized way of status and action tracking
- Conducting a limited pilot or validation in practice (in alignment with the team)
- Presenting your findings and proposal to the Supply Chain team
The assignment remains closely connected to daily operations to ensure that your improvements are practical and implementable. To fully understand the process and support your research, you will actively participate in daily team operations by for example managing and following up on the order book in SAP, maintaining active contact with suppliers (by phone and email, often in English) and coordinating internally with deparments like Procurement, Warehouse, Quality and Assembly
Your profile
- You are an HBO (Bachelor) student in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field
- You thrive in a dynamic, operational environment
- You take ownership and communicate clearly
- You work in a structured and detail-oriented manner
- You are fluent in Dutch and have a professional level of English
