Job Description
Bsc: Internship Mechanical/Industrial Engineering - Implementation/Optimization of CAM programming

Bsc: Mechanical Engineering/ Industrial Engineering
Implementation and Optimization of CAM programming  for sheet metal proto's
Are you a technically oriented student who is looking for a challenging internship? Are you interested in manufacturing technology and process optimization through automation? We are looking for you!

Your assignment
Our R&D part Protoshop is specialized in manufacturing high-quality plastic and metal parts mainly through various sheet metal fabrication techniques, turning, milling and 3D printing.
With a team of 15 people we provide these parts to our R&D projects, using those to build test- and engine setups. Quality, Speed and Cost efficiency are of importance to us.
You will work on analyzing our current CAM processes, focusing on work preparation using TruTops Boost. The assignment is to implement Boost as the primary CAM solution for our sheet metal prototype part production, replacing the current program (Radan).
The implementation should integrate with our existing CAD application (Teamcenter-NX) and our latest laser-cutting machine (TruMatic 3000).

Your activities include:
•    Identifying which steps in work preparation can be automated within Boost (currently separate steps in Radan).
•    Defining and configuring settings for materials used in Protoshop.
•    Ensuring Boost performs all tasks currently handled by Radan, including unfolding, dimensioning, feature assignment, and output generation.

The desired result of the assignment is:
•    A report that includes:
o    A documented workflow for using Boost in work preparation.
o    Automation of repetitive tasks such as unfolding, dimensioning, and feature assignment.
o    Ensure TruTops Boost is fully configured to replace Radan.
o    Defined material settings and bend-loss parameters for Protoshop.
o    Boost fully configured to reduce errors and improve efficiency.
•    Presentation to the Protoshop and Management team.

You will work together within our Sheet-metal team, consisting of 5 persons (planning, work preparation and operators) to implement/optimize the application, validate findings and share future recommendations. Alignment with our Protoshop in Germany is part of the task as they use the same TruMatic 3000.

Your profile
It is important that you are interested in manufacturing technology and automation. Proactiveness and good communication skills are integral to making this assignment a success. Furthermore:
•    You are an HBO student studying Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
•    You have affinity or experience with CAD application and production processes.
•    You have an analytical mindset for process optimization.
•    As of March/ April 2026, you are available for 5 to 6 months for 3 to 5 days per week.

What’s in it for you?
•    A challenging assignment with skilled coaching
•    Internship/ Graduation compensation of up to €500,- per month
•    Travel cost compensation if you don’t have an ‘OV-weekcard’
•    The possibility to network with professionals inside and outside your field of expertise, thanks to our diversity of disciplines which you will work with
