Bsc/Msc: Chemistry Internship - Connecting the dots: from kinetics to physical properties
Datum: 18 feb. 2025
Plaats: NL
Bedrijf: Canon Production Printing
Are you a HBO/WO student who is looking for a graduation assignment? Are you ready to change our way of working in ink development? We are looking for you!
Your assignment
UV-curable inks have been developed for the graphic market allowing numerous highly valued applications. Canon has been very successful with the development of the UVgel technology that is utilised in the Colorado printer family. Within Canon we have the ambition to transform our way of working from pragmatic ink screening to a model based way-of-working. Together with the University of Amsterdam we are therefore working on complex kinetic models that capture all the chemical processes taking place during the conversion of monomer to polymer. These models are currently based on simplistic ink recipes and still differ tremendously from our real inks. We are looking for a student who can help us develop a model-informed way of working, a smarter approach to finding a suitable ink recipe with a new ingredient. We do not want to wait until our models are fully “ready”; instead, we aim to learn by applying model-informed experiments. This approach will allow us to understand what we need from the models while simultaneously advancing our ink development process.
We are seeking a motivated student eager to contribute to this innovative project. If you are passionate about advancing experimental methods and excited to work on real-world problems while gaining hands-on experience, we invite you to join us in transforming our approach to ink development. Apply now to be part of a dynamic team at the forefront of UVgel technology!
