Bsc/Msc: Internship Chemistry/Materials Science - Sustainable Colorants
Are you a chemistry/materials science student who is looking for a(n) graduation assignment or internship? Are you in for a challenge to develop sustainable colorants for inkjet printing application? We are looking for you!

Your assignment
Canon UVgel technology is specially-developed for advanced printing based on UV curing principles. This technology retains the advantages of prevailing printer technologies, while eliminating many of the compromises. One of the successful products is our lately released Colorado series. In the context of sustainability, more eco-friendly inks are desired. For this, we are developing a new generation of UVgel containing sustainable pigments.
In this assignment, you will investigate whether those sustainable pigments, e.g., cellulose, are feasible for UV inks or not; and if so, how. To this end, you will need to grind raw materials, formulate pigment dispersions with various ingredients, evaluate compatibility and stability of the newly formulated pigment dispersions within, for instance, predefined UVgel recipes, and examine the optical density of the inks by measuring the color density of prints quality.

Your profile
•    You have research experience with pigment (dispersion) or dyes
•    You are experienced with characterization of optical properties of materials
•    You are a result-driven and self-motivated team player
•    You can start ASAP and you are available for 6-9 months for a minimum of 4 days per week.

What’s in it for you?
•    A challenging assignment with skilled coaching
•    Internship/ Graduation compensation of €500,- per month
•    Travel cost compensation if you don’t have an ‘OV-weekcard’
•    The possibility to network with professionals inside and outside your field of expertise, thanks to our diversity of disciplines which you will work with
•    With our company values collaboration, innovation and ownership, we strive to bring out the best in each other, expand boundaries and feel empowered to take ownership of our work.
