Business Model Manager

Become the architect of lifetime profitability
36-40 hours per week, hybrid in Venlo (NL)

As Business Model Manager, you are responsible for defining, steering and implementing business models that secure long-term profitability across product groups and throughout the Canon value chain. Your scope covers the integral organization, regions, National Sales Organizations and business partners. You report to the Director of Global Business Strategy and represent the business in cross-functional pricing teams.

What You’ll Do

You will act as the architect of lifetime profitability. For each product group and region, you will define the Target Operating Model and determine how margins should be distributed across the different participants in the sales channel.

You will monitor margin development throughout the complete product lifecycle, from business case and launch to ramp-up, maturity and phase-out, and adapt the model when required to safeguard profitability.

A key part of your role is the definition and implementation of pricing. You will establish Transfer Prices and Manufacturer Suggested Partner Prices for hardware, inks, consumables and services, taking regional business conditions into account. You will also develop and implement a structured process for periodically reviewing prices for existing products. In addition, you will help govern support and promotional budgets to balance revenue growth with bottom-line profitability.

You will contribute to regional channel growth initiatives by supporting Business Area Management and the Global Business Strategy team with financial assessments of channel expansion proposals. This includes local margin analysis, evaluation of required SG&A investments and Return-on-Investment calculations.

How you will make an impact

In this global role, you will create and maintain transparent pricing and margin overviews across product lines and regions. Through scenario analysis and what-if modelling, you will identify margin performance issues and develop proposals for channel and commercial investment decisions.

You will translate high-level operating models into detailed pricing components and individual profit-and-loss views for product lines and channel companies.

Success requires close collaboration with Product Strategy, Product Management, Finance, Controlling, Business Area Management, Business Strategy, Service, Partner Management, regions and National Sales Organizations. You will document decisions, prepare written performance reports, present proposals, and escalate significant margin issues to the appropriate stakeholders.

What You Bring

You have:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, business administration or a related field.
  • Approximately five to ten years of relevant professional experience.
  • A proven track record in profitability analysis and channel margin positioning.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including experience with business cases, profit maps, foreign-exchange effects, Total Cost of Ownership and Return-on-Investment calculations.
  • Experience translating strategic operating models into practical pricing structures and commercial components.
  • Strong analytical skills, including scenario and what-if modelling.
  • The ability to organize and govern periodic pricing and margin reviews.
  • Clear communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to present proposals and address complex financial issues.

  • Experience within a Canon regional headquarters or National Sales Organization, together with a strong understanding of Canon’s end-to-end channel and financial structure, is highly preferred.
