What you’ll do 

 

As a Business Support Engineer within Canon Production Printing you act as a member of the R&D organization and liaison with HQ Business Unit, connecting to Canon sales regions and customers. You are capable to build up a network across sectors and disciplines.  

With your excellent understanding of our customers long and short term needs you identify business opportunity, which enables you to advise the internal Canon organization and steer the product development on short and long term within R&D. 

You take care of special projects with customers, focusing on specific customer needs on the short term. You participate, contribute and initiate cross-sectoral support. Based on these cross-sectoral and customer intimate projects, you give feedback on the product roadmap and influence priority setting of topics in the development of the product.   

 

Your main responsibilities are: 

 

  • Explain / educate 
    • Visit customers and support the local organization in actual needs of the end-user/customer 
    • Create information material that can be replicated for the service organization and sales regions 
  • Understand / learn from customers 
    • Retrieve knowledge and best practice from customers 
    • Derive opportunities for product roadmaps or sales and service 
  • Configure / Adapt / Create 
    • Support customers in the field to create faster and more accurate response 
    • Support the business in deals by proposing and executing customer focused adaptation projects 
  • Analyze / Replicate 
    • Identify opportunities by remote data and customer feedback analysis 
    • Transfer knowledge to sales, service, R&D and customers 

 

What you bring 

 

We are looking for someone with an energetic drive and good communication skills. A networker with knowledge of the industrial/commercial printing industry and the ability to speak the language of the R&D engineer as well business and customer.  

  • A Master degree level of thinking with 8-10 years of relevant experience on technical level of the industrial print industry.   
  • Experience with leading multi-disciplinary project teams and able to co-operate with, to listen to and to convince different stakeholders throughout the organization (3 – 5 years of experience) 
  • Strong communicative and networking skills 
  • Sense of business (urgency), customer orientation 
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English 

Available to travel worldwide (few times a year - from few day trips until period of 1 week)
