For our R&D (± 700 employees in Venlo, the Netherlands, and ± 500 in Poing, Germany) the department Product Quality, Safety & Environment (PQS&E) delivers an important contribution to our product development. Within this department a group of 6 experts is dedicated to specific topics regarding chemical safety of the materials that are applied in our productive print engines and related equipment. This specific position is dedicated to compliance with chemical regulations. This concerns inks, toners and other materials that are applied in our printers.

 

Your job as Chemical Compliance Expert (m/f/d)

 

You create, review and maintain Safety Data Sheets ensuring regulatory compliance. You keep overview of international legislation with respect to chemical safety (notably registrations and notifications) of the chemicals contained in all CPP products. You interpret legislation from all countries where CPP products are sold and assess the impact on current and future products. To make sure products and chemicals are and remain in compliance you provide advice to R&D project teams in a proactive and timely manner (supported by your colleagues with expertise in chemical safety, toxicology and chemical risks). Together you ensure regulatory compliance for all sales countries. With your strong analytical skills and your accurate attitude you combine all available data and assessment results into concise reports and documents. You cooperate with several Canon RSHQs to ensure our products are certified/registered to enter that specific region, taking into account the local legislations.


Who are we looking for?

 

We are looking for a colleague with strong collaborative skills, with chemical compliance expertise to guide and support chemical engineers in the R&D development process and in the market release preparations. Besides that, you:

  • have good working knowledge of REACH, GHS and CLP (and equivalent legislation in CPP sales countries)
  • have expertise to perform the necessary role in chemical compliance assessment, Safety Data Sheet creation (3E software), notification and registration of chemicals
  • have a Bachelor degree in chemistry with min 5 years of relevant experience in product stewardship
  • have a developed sense of organizational context
  • are accurate and independent in your work
  • are fluent in English
