Job Description
Bsc/Msc: Internship Chemistry - Research of pigment dispersions for high temperature UV printing

Are you a chemistry student which is looking for a graduation assignment? Are you ready for the challenge to research new pigment dispersion chemistries for UVgel inkjet printing? We are looking for you!

Your assignment
You will create your own small scale pigment dispersions in a chemical lab using lab equipment. With these dispersions you will perform analysis to confirm they have the right properties and stability; particle size analysis, UV-VIS spectroscopy and viscosity analysis. Lastly, you will apply your own pigment dispersions in an ink and see how well they perform via coating or printing. This assignment provides you with a great challenge to apply your chemical knowledge to developments in the heart of our R&D!

Your profile
•    You are a student in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field at HBO or WO level
•    You think it’s a challenge to translate laboratory results to real-world applications, such as inks, coatings, or printing processes.
•    You have hands-on experience in a chemical laboratory, basic understanding of colloid chemistry and/or pigment chemistry, and familiarity analytical tools such as UV-Vis spectroscopy, viscosity and particle size measurements.
•    You are capable of quickly understanding the root-cause of deviations and you can translate this is what experiments to do to come to improvements of the chemical formulations, and you are a strong analytical thinker
•    You are enrolled at a college/university and are looking for a mandatory part of your curriculum, for which you will also receive credits
•    You are available for 4 to 12 months for a minimum of 4 days per week

What’s in it for you?
•    A challenging assignment with skilled coaching
•    Internship/ Graduation compensation of €500,- per month
•    Travel cost compensation if you don’t have an ‘OV-weekcard’
•    The possibility to network with professionals inside and outside your field of expertise, thanks to our diversity of disciplines which you will work with
