Are you excited about using cameras and AI to replace traditional sensors? Do you want to develop a smart system that can detect stack quality in real time? Then this assignment is for you!
Your assignment
In high-performance printing systems, reliable handling of paper stacks is essential. Today, multiple sensors are used to detect whether a stack is positioned correctly, to measure its height, and to identify deformation. These solutions can be complex and limited in flexibility.
In this assignment, you will explore whether a vision-based solution can provide a smarter alternative. You will work on a proof of concept where cameras are used to monitor stack quality and detect potential issues before they occur.
Your activities may include:
• Designing a concept for a camera-based system that can be integrated into a feeder or stacker
• Developing and training an image analysis or AI-based algorithm to detect stack position, height, and deformation
• Building and testing your solution on a practical setup to evaluate performance and feasibility
You will be part of a multidisciplinary R&D team working on advanced printing systems. This gives you the opportunity to combine hardware, software, and system-level thinking.
Why this assignment?
You will work on a hands-on and innovative challenge that combines vision, AI, and mechatronics. The results of your work can directly contribute to smarter machines and improved system performance. You will have the freedom to explore, experiment, and bring your own ideas into practice.
