Business Planner

(one region coverage) 
40 hours per week, hybrid in Venlo (NL)

 

What You’ll Do

As Business Planner, you are responsible for defining and managing a robust business intelligence and planning structure that serves as a primary source for senior management and regional business strategy. You will collect, analyze, and report regional performance data, proactively identifying risks and opportunities and enabling timely course corrections to achieve growth and profitability targets.

 

You’ll be responsible for:

 

Regional business planning & forecasting

  • Setting up, monitoring, and continuously improving dynamic dashboards to steer regional performance for all Canon Production Printing (CPP) business groups, with a focus on individual product performance
  • Supporting placement planning and revenue planning based on product roadmaps (budget and mid-, and long term planning)
  • Supporting development of regional business plans, budgets, targets, and forecasts, translating global strategy into realistic, value-driven growth and profitability targets

 

Market & performance analysis

  • Analyzing regional market trends across business groups, customer segments, and competitive dynamics
  • Monitoring KPIs and performance versus plan, identifying risks and opportunities, and proposing corrective actions
  • Supporting product lifecycle management, including MIF (machines in field) management, phase-in/phase-out planning and regional/local stock considerations

 

Business case & scenario development

  • Building robust business cases and scenario analyses for strategic initiatives, pricing decisions, and portfolio choices
  • Supporting pricing strategies and value propositions by calculating the potential impact on unit, revenue and margin planning
  • Supporting go-to-market strategies and channel expansion plans for new platform products

 

Cross-functional alignment & steering

  • Acting as a key integrator between strategy, sales, marketing, operations, and finance
  • Supporting alignment of priorities and enabling fact-based decision-making across the organization

 

Management reporting & decision support

  • Preparing clear, insight-driven monthly reports and presentations for regional and senior management
  • Enabling proactive steering through timely, data-driven insights

 

 

Who You’ll Work With

You will be part of an international organization with a flat hierarchy and a strong cross-functional mindset. You will collaborate closely with regional teams, marketing- business planning and sales/service teams globally.

 

 

What You Bring

We are looking for a proactive, analytical team player with a strong business mindset:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Industrial Engineering
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in business planning, strategy, or commercial controlling in a complex B2B environment
  • Experience working with regional or multi-country responsibilities
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, including data modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and business case development
  • High proficiency in Excel and Power BI (or similar BI and financial planning tools)
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, competitive positioning, and value-based pricing
  • Ability to translate strategy into actionable regional plans
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; comfortable influencing without direct authority
  • Structured, proactive, and independent way of working, with a high level of ownership and integrity
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); Japanese is a plus
