Industrial Engineer
40 hours per week, hybrid in Venlo (NL)
What you’ll do
We are right in the middle of one of the greatest periods of change in the world of printing. Developing and manufacturing products with new innovations and technologies allowing people to print more customized with the reliability and quality of traditional mass print production.
The complexity, speed of innovations and time to market in combination with lean manufacturing concepts challenge you to improve and solve problems (hardly) never before encountered. You successfully translate innovations and technologies created by our R&D pioneers in The Netherlands, to successful and full-scale lean manufacturing operation at our production facilities. This involves implementing frequent and (still) ongoing design changes in an existing assembly line.
In an early phase of development you are in close contact with R&D in order to implement Design for Assembly solutions and in order to incorporate Optimal Assembly Sequence and Superconcurrent Engineering as early as possible in the design of the new engines. Your inspiring personality and strong communication skills enable you to build and maintain relationships with your counterparts at the innovation centers and you liaise and engage with counterparts at the supply center in Germany as well.
As a subject matter expert you make sure we grow and enhance our agile approach for capital goods by advanced Lean Manufacturing improvements throughout the full value chain. Effective and efficient manufacturing methods and processes are crucial in your operation resulting in a cost effective and accelerated production at our supply centers. Furthermore you make use of your strong analytical skills and pragmatic process mindset to identify and implement improvement opportunities in current assembly lines ensuring outstanding product quality, optimal flow, short assembly lead times, mixed model production concepts and ‘short time to market’.
In this position, based in Venlo, the Netherlands, you report directly to the Manufacturing Manager.
Who you’ll work with
Manufacturing is responsible for the manufacturing and in time delivery of ‘best-in- class’ high mix low volume Canon Production Printing products within the Canon Organization. Challenges within the Manufacturing organization are enhancing the Lean philosophy, improving and growing the industrialization (methods) for high mix – low volume products. Industrial engineering is the spider in the web who reviews and influences the design well before start of production and who also designs an continuously improves the production line using lean principles.
What you bring
We are looking for someone ambitious and driven to achieve resultsts. You are decisive and with your outstanding interpersonal skills you gain acceptance and achieve successful delivery. Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following job requirements:
- Bachelor or Masters degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or comparable
- About 3-7 years work experience in a relevant role within a production/assembly environment
- Strong affinity for IT, and excellent project management skills
- Strong process focus
- Ambitious and driven to achieve results, decisive
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Profound knowledge of Dutch is highly advantageous
- Permissioned to work in the Netherlands, no relocation needed
