Develop a new Material to improve the Sustainability and Quality of Prints
Are you a MSc. student who is looking for a multidisciplinary graduation assignment? Are you ready for the challenge to improve the performance and sustainability of our prints at the same time? We are looking for you!
Your assignment
In the R&D department of water-based inks, we are studying and developing novel binder systems that are designed to be more sustainable (bio-degradable, bio-based, recyclable, less-intensive processing, zero waste of organic solvents).
As a member of the team you will be actively involved in the full R&D-chain: synthesis and characterization of polymeric binders, synthesis/processing of the synthesized binders into stable dispersions, formulation of inks, generation of test-prints, analysis of materials and prints and comparison of the results to literature.
For this assignment you need to be creative and should collaborate with colleagues of other departments. You will be working with state of the art equipment in a well-equipped wet chemical lab. In view of the multidisciplinary nature of the assignment, you will be collaborating with other chemists, interns, physicists and engineers. Your results and final advice need to be put together in a well-structured presentation/report for the other colleagues.
Your profile
Of course, it is important that you are eager to work in the lab. In order to get the best results you need to feel comfortable taking initiative in approaching colleagues to collaborate. Next to this, we wish that:
- You are creative
- You are a clear communicator
- You are available for at least 5 months (full-time)
What’s in it for you?
- A challenging assignment with skilled coaching
- Internship/ Graduation compensation of €500,- per month
- Travel cost compensation if you don’t have an ‘OV-weekcard’
- The possibility to network with professionals inside and outside your field of expertise, thanks to our diversity of disciplines which you will work with
