Physics researcher/designer R&D

40 hours per week, On location in Venlo (NL)

 

What You’ll Do

As Physics researcher/designer in Research and Development (R&D), you bridge the gap between theoretical physics and practical application, focusing on designing new products and refining processes especially related to the fixation processes in our printer engines. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with software, mechanics, and electronics experts, to solve the related complex technical challenges.

With your strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, entrepreneurial mindset and ambition you inspire and influence your stakeholders in your project (e.g. functions, designers, researchers).

The focus for this vacancy will be on fixation as one of the most important processes in our printer engines. Being part of the fixation team, you have a deep understanding of physics behind the fixation processes in the printer engine. With your modelling and experimental skills, you are able to come to concrete proposals on how to apply or redesign fixation for specific printer engines.

 

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Steering development of the fixation modules that are needed to develop state of the art printer engines.
  • Understanding the fixation process to be able to balance this process in the context of the complete printer engine.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary teams delivering a working print process  that enables new applications for graphics and industrial printing

 

 

Who You’ll Work With

Our international organization has a flat hierarchy, so you’ll be working with lots of other people in an open, creative multidisciplinary environment. That includes for example designers, developers and architects.

 

 

 

What You Bring

  • A PhD or master’s degree in physics
  • A strong technical background and eager to learn
  • A combination of experimental and modelling skills in order to understand the physics of the fixation process by performing experiments on test setups as well as the ability to capture the knowledge in models.
  • Outstanding people management skills - ability to influence and motivate people. Team builder with strong planning/project management skills, a proactive attitude and experienced in extensive stakeholder management
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills and a strong results driven mindset
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English both spoken and written
