Professional Services Consultant

Professional Services Consultant

40 hours per week, Venlo (NL)

 

What you’ll do

As a Professional Services Consultant, you are the link between internal teams (e.g. R&D, Service & Support, Product Marketing), regional sales organizations and, on a limited basis, customers (e.g. Printing companies). You support integrations Canon printing products, workflow software and third-party solutions into a variety of customer environments.

In practice, you predominantly engage with the internal regional commercial organization, while direct interaction with end customers is limited

Customer visits are rare (around twice per year).

You conduct needs and feasibility assessments, translate them into clear requirements for development, and implement end-to-end solutions. You also support new product introductions with training and documentation. Sharing expertise on workflows and applications is a key part of your role.

You ensure our solutions meet both current and future customer needs. Nothing comes automatically: you influence internal stakeholders as early as possible (for example in R&D projects) and navigate smoothly in an environment where alignment and stakeholder management are part of the job. You also contribute to the strategic roadmap by identifying improvements that enhance customers’ operational excellence.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Build and share in-depth expertise. Act as the 3rd line escalation point and expert sparring partner for internal stakeholders and regional sales organizations.
  • Solve complex issues by analysing, validating and testing as well roll out solutions analysis, testing and investigation
  • Prepare and support product rollouts with training and documentation
  • Write and maintain technical reference documentation for Professional Services consultants (including solution paths and alternative options), in cooperation with R&D for larger issues when needed
  • Certify and release solutions; advise on configurations, integrations and interfaces
  • Support implementations
  • Coordinate with R&D for error logging and deeper analysis (your network and collaboration with stakeholders makes the difference)(you don’t have direct access to logs yourself; your network and collaboration make the difference)
  • Analyse and define requirements to steer R&D in line with market trends

 

Who you’ll work with

The Professional Services department supports Canon regions and National Sales Offices with workflow solutions, applications, media expertise and customer-specific machine configurations, mainly for sheetfed inkjet products.

You work closely with internal teams such as R&D, Product Management, Marketing and Service & Support to ensure smooth development and implementation. As a subject matter expert, you guide regional Product Managers and Consultants during product launches and customer projects.

You report directly to the Director of Professional Services.

 

What you bring

You have a strong affinity for spotting market opportunities for both current and new products and balance them according to business fit You can deal with a wide range of stakeholders and you want to grow further in a role at the intersection of sales/business and technology. In addition, you recognize yourself in (a large part of) the following:

  • Experience in the graphic arts industry with at least 5-10 years of relevant experience (e.g., as a prepress manager, workflow engineer or similar role in a print production environment) and familiarity with printers and/or offset presses
  • In case of no experience in the printing/ graphic arts industry, you bring in a software background and/or experience in a software-related role
  • Strong analytical skills and you enjoy testing and unraveling problems step by step
  • Strong affinity with our technology and the drive to build in-depth product knowledge
  • Knowledge of Canon (software) products/solutions (e.g., PRISMA) or third-party software, color management and the graphic arts market is a plus; most important is that you are eager to develop this further
  • Excellent communication skills in English; you present yourself as a professional and convincing sparring partner
  • Willingness to travel globally (around 10% per year)
