Tactical Buyer
32 - 40 hours per week, hybrid in Venlo (NL)
We are offering a position as tactical buyer within the global procurement organization of Canon Production Printing in Venlo. You focus on the day-to-day execution of procurement activities. The main emphasis is on ordering and organizing goods and services for short-term needs. You independently carry out operational purchasing activities for a defined product range or service package, manage multiple suppliers, and support the purchasing account managers. With your successful contribution, you will promote flawless quality in components, availability of materials, lower costs, and seamless cooperation with suppliers. What you’ll do
What you’ll do In this role you play a key part in ensuring smooth and accurate purchasing operations that support our business goals. You contribute by securing reliable quotations, maintaining precise order data, and safeguarding the quality of our internal and external purchasing processes. You work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to keep our procurement flow efficient, accurate, and fully aligned with operational needs. The Tactical Buyer:
- Requests, evaluates, and compares quotations to ensure accurate pricing and optimal conditions.
- Supports the Procurement Account Managers in their activities
- Checks and validates incoming invoices against purchase orders and deliveries.
- Enters and manages purchase orders in SAP and Canon’s e‑ordering system
- Verifies the accuracy of internal orders and resolves discrepancies.
- Has affinity with working in systems (SAP, Team Center)
- Maintains complete and up‑to‑date purchasing and order data in SAP.
- Negotiates small‑volume orders when needed to secure favorable terms.
Who you’ll work with
This role is part of the global Procurement department (65 professionals), with multiple teams divided over three manufacturing and innovation centers worldwide (Venlo, Poing and Singapore) and responsible for the procurement of all products and services. The team in Venlo consists of 25 colleagues. We also increasingly work together with the Canon procurement teams in Japan and Thailand. Manufacturing and R&D are key stakeholders, responsible for the development, manufacturing and on time delivery of ‘best-in- class’ high mix low volume CPP products.

- You are independently responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of the operational P2P (Purchase-to-Pay) process
- You bring strong communication and organizational skills in both Dutch and English to a purchasing team of 18 people
