What You’ll Do

As Electrical Designer at Canon Production Printing, you add value to our products by designing (sub)modules in a multidisciplinary project. In this role you design electrical systems, like power, drivers, drives, sensors, optics, actuators or PBC’s.

Together with architects you specify and agree on requirements based on customer’s demands. It’s your task to come up with technical designs and concepts that meet these objectives, properly balancing time, quality, performance, accuracy, interdisciplinary interactions and taking cost into account.

Within the project you collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines (eg. Mechanical, Software, Physics). You review your ideas and jointly develop smart creative solutions on a system level that meet the overall project objectives. You test and review your design(s) by building prototypes to proof the feasibility of the routes you have identified.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Setting up and execution of plans where you are in the lead;
  • Negotiation/balancing of requirements for your design
  • Aligning your designs and project plans with members of the project team;
  • Designing and implementing your solution
  • Testing of prototypes
  • Verifying your designs are correctly implemented to get a robust and accurate system
  • Releasing your designs into production, working together with production and procurement
  • Troubleshooting product issues, defining improvement actions
