Junior Financial Controller
32-40 hours per week, hybrid in Venlo (NL)

 

What You’ll Do

As a Financial Controller you will be working for our Support Functions division. Your key responsibility is to provide management with the right information, which you do by preparing reports and accompanying analysis and advice on a wide range of financial topics. Other responsibilities are:

 

  • Focusing on monthly reporting (Actual, BCF), making sure the results in the reporting tools are accurate and reliable.

  • Support the full budgeting process (AOB, QOB, and MTP).

  • Understand and challenge monthly results through discussions with the Business Controller.

  • Advise on key operational issues and give recommendations to optimize business performances.

  • Ensure that financial figures are in line and comply with accounting standards and other legislations (e.g. tax).

  • As subsidy controller of the organization, responsible for WBSO and several smaller subsidies.

  • Participate in (improvement) projects.

  • Translate big amounts of financial data into practical reports in a smart and efficient matter. 

Next to your role as Financial Controller you play a crucial role in the monthly closing process. You are the gatekeeper for controlled period closing, and ensuring processes are performed in the correct sequence.

 

Who You’ll Work With

You will be part of the Financial Controlling team (±10 people) which is part of the central Financial Accounting & Controlling department. You work in close cooperation with the Business Controller, who acts as the Financial Business partner towards the CPP indirect support functions (this are corporate departments such as HR, IT, Finance and Real Estate) and direct support functions (our Business Unit departments). You report to the manager of the Financial Controlling department.

 

What You Bring
We are looking for an ambitious finance professional who understands the dynamics and challenges of a multinational company and wants to play a key role in supporting the business enabling growth and success. You are a pro-active person with a pragmatic, customer-oriented attitude, strong problem-solving skills, analytically strong and not afraid to express your opinion.

 

Furthermore, you meet the following requirements:

 

  • Bachelor of Master degree in Finance, Accounting or comparable.

  • 1-3 years of experience in financial / business controlling, but you may also be an ambitious starter with relevant internship experience.

  • You have good communication, presentation, and social skills (in both English and Dutch)

  • Knowledge of subsidy controlling and knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS (and the ability to apply these) is a big plus.

  • Knowledgeable Excel skills.

  • SAP, ERP and Business Intelligence software experience is preferred.

  • Available for 32 – 40 hours
