What You’ll Do

You have a role in the Product Safety and Environment team, working closely together with R&D product teams and other relevant stakeholders.

 

In this role you are responsible for ensuring product access to the market by achieving and maintaining required safety and compliancy certifications for new and existing products. You successfully influence the design of future products and guide projects under development through the required steps. In this role you support R&D to understand / interpret technical standards and certification requirements, liaise to other PS&E experts.

 

As Environmental Regulations Expert you investigate the new ambitions of the European Commission as well as environmental policy makers around the world, such as in the USA, Middle East and South East Asia. Several impact fields are: energy efficiency, circularity, packaging requirements, digital product passport, eco label requirements, carbon neutrality. You make sure that the R&D teams understand the impact and what essentials they have to take into account in the development and engineering tracks. With your professional attitude you support to reach the most future-fit solution that enables the product to be sold on the global market.

 

Your task will be also to maintain the related documentation. You can think of Technical Standards, Process descriptions, CE declarations, Global Market Access certifications overviews or Product Safety Data Sheets (PSDSs).

 

Who You’ll Work With

Canon Production Printing has a Product Safety & Environmental Department consisting of 11 professionals. You will be working closely with our experienced safety experts located cross site in Venlo and in Poing. In this role you will be involved with R&D project members and with relevant Canon regions across the world. 

 

What You Bring

We are looking for a colleague who is able to influence R&D improving quality and discipline of product safety and environment related work, who is persistent if challenged. You are willing to read legislation and quickly form an idea of what are the requirements for CPP products and the possible impact on product development. You have a getting-things-done mentality.

Further you:

  • have a bachelor degree in Engineering, e.g. electronics or mechanical engineering
  • are fluent in English (verbal and writing), Dutch and German speaking skills is a pre
  • are precise, well organized and meticulous
  • have good organizational sensitivity
  • think abstractly (from helicopter view, process-based thinking)
  • preferably have experience with product safety and environment work
