Mechanical Designer
36-40 hours per week, in Venlo (NL)
What You’ll Do
Being key player in the development of our printer modules by translating multidisciplinary design challenges into monodisciplinary requirements, balancing performance, costs, functionality and time.
In our product development projects at R&D you are responsible for the design of mechanical & mechatronic printer units, like accurate positioning systems, media transport systems, or structural dynamic systems.
Together with other disciplines you solve challenges by creating new/improved designs within the constraints of the product architecture. Maintaining a good balance between time, quality, accuracy, interdisciplinary interactions and cost is essential.
You take the ownership of the design from A to Z. While doing so, you work closely together with colleagues from other disciplines. You review your ideas and jointly develop smart creative solutions that meet the overall project objectives. You test and review your design(s) by using various simulation tools. You will be investigating or proving your design by fitting prototypes in the machines and running experiments.
What You Bring
- A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- You are structured and good at keeping overview; being able to handle a diversity of topics simultaneously
- Good at thinking on a system / platform level
- Being a team player with proactive attitude, who likes to work in cross-functional teams
- Excellent analytical skills
- You are goal oriented, hands on, practical and like a pragmatic approach
- Knowledge and skills in design principles is also a big plus
- Skilled in Model Based Design
- Fluent in English, verbally and in writing. Profound knowledge of Dutch is a big plus
- Permitted to work in the Netherlands
- Relevant working experience is a plus
- Available for 32-40 hours per week
