Are you an applied physics graduate student looking for a graduation assignment? Ready to develop methods for detecting print artifacts through hands-on experiments and data analysis? We are looking for you!

Your assignment
A key attribute of prints is glossiness and its homogeneity, as the human eye is very sensitive to even small gloss variations. Together with you we want to develop a new measurement method to detect local variations in the gloss level and then classify them. You will start with optically measuring prints and detecting large deformations. During your assignment you will refine the measurement method and be able to detect successively smaller and more complex deformations.

In your assignment you will experience both experimental work and data analysis. You will have the freedom to focus on either of the two and to bring in your own ideas. In addition, you will get to know multiple departments within R&D to get a broad understanding of our work and see how your contributions will help others.
Shape your own path, collaborate across R&D, and see your ideas make a real impact!

Your profile
•    You are currently pursuing a Master’s degree in applied physics.
•    You think it’s an exciting challenge to combine your skills in coding with hands on experience in the lab and measurements.
•    You enjoy problem-solving and working in an interdisciplinary team.
•    To be able to fulfil the assignment you have skills such as basic proficiency in coding with languages such as Python or Matlab as well as good communication and team work skills.
•    It is a plus if you have prior experience with optical measurements.
•    As of February 2025, you are available for 4 to 6 months for a minimum of 4 days per week. We can adapt the time frame to make it longer if that fits better with the requirements of your graduation project.

What’s in it for you?
•    A challenging assignment with skilled coaching
•    Internship/ Graduation compensation of €500,- per month
•    Travel cost compensation if you don’t have an ‘OV-weekcard’
•    The possibility to network with professionals inside and outside your field of expertise, thanks to our diversity of disciplines which you will work with
•    With our company values collaboration, innovation and ownership, we strive to bring out the best in each other, expand boundaries and feel empowered to take ownership of our work.
