Msc: Internship Image processing - Media detection
Date: 8 May 2025
Location: NL
Company: Canon Production Printing
Msc: Internship Image Processing, Optics, Machine Vision
Subtitle: Develop new image processing techniques to enhance the detection capabilities of our camera systems.
Are you a Master's student with a background in image processing, optics, or machine vision looking for a challenging research project? Do you want to contribute to the development of advanced camera systems in our machines? We are looking for you!
Your Assignment
Camera systems in our machines perform a variety of tasks, including tracking media to ensure the print is correctly positioned. However, media are not always smoothly white; some are very reflective or even transparent, making them difficult to accurately detect.
This project focuses on developing new image processing techniques to increase the detection and application range of one of our camera systems. It could be expanded to include more use cases or experimental work to optimize the system itself.
You will
-Develop and implement new image processing algorithms to improve the detection of various types of media.
-Test and validate the performance of these algorithms on reflective and transparent media.
-Explore additional use cases and conduct experimental work to optimize the camera system.
-Work with Matlab or Python to develop and analyze your solutions.
Your Profile:
- You are currently studying for a Master's degree in a field related to image processing, optics, or machine vision.
- You have a strong background in image processing and are proficient with Matlab or Python.
- You are analytical, innovative, and enjoy tackling complex technical challenges.
- You are available to start as soon as possible.
What’s in it for you?
- A challenging assignment with skilled coaching.
- Internship/Graduation compensation of €500,- per month.
- Travel cost compensation if you don’t have an ‘OV-weekcard’.
- The possibility to network with professionals inside and outside your field of expertise, thanks to our diversity of disciplines which you will work with.
- With our company values collaboration, innovation, and ownership, we strive to bring out the best in each other, expand boundaries, and feel empowered to take ownership of our work.
