Portfolio Director Digital Sheetfed Printing
40 hours per week, hybrid in Venlo (NL)

What You’ll Do

Your goal as Portfolio Director is to drive, lead and monitor the product planning process to ensure the portfolio of products and services are in alignment with the strategic objectives of the Business Line. This should result in an attractive and competitive portfolio of products and services and in enhancing market share.

 

In this position you are responsible for the portfolio of the sheetfed systems of Canon Production Printing. You develop a successful, distinctive strategy and product development roadmaps for the Sheetfed production print portfolio. You continuously analyze market evolutions, customer requirements, products, technologies, and competitive movements in existing market segments as well as new markets. Your key responsibilities are:

 

  • Strategically responsible for the life cycle of all activities relating to the sheetfed portfolio.
  • Propose portfolio strategies to senior management as investment proposals.
  • Implementation of approved portfolio strategies.
  • Development of the portfolio, so CPP can continually offer its customers value driven and competitive business solutions resulting in customer retention.
  • Lead teams of portfolio planners, architects, and other high-level positions in CPP.

This position is based in Venlo, the Netherlands. You report to the Sr. Director Strategic Planning.

 

Who You’ll Work With

In this position you collaborate with all relevant functions within CPP (R&D, Marketing, Business Controlling, M&L). You are part of one or more project teams where you execute your portfolio responsibility and act as thought leader providing continuous guidance on the implementation of the agreed strategy.
 

What You Bring
We are looking for someone with a combined skillset between engineering and commerce. With preferably a technical background in an R&D environment you know the ins and outs of product development. Combining these skills with the ability to interact with customers and finding out the market needs, you find the right balance customers needs and technical possibilities.

 

To be successful in this role you need to be a strategic thinker, with deep understanding of technology and strong business acumen. While we do not expect you to be an expert in all areas from the start, a proven ability to develop the missing aspects is a must. Furthermore, you meet the following requirements:

 

  • Master degree in (preferably) a technical field with at least 10 years of relevant experience, in which knowledge of sheetfed technology and applications is highly preferred.
  • Effective communicator with an influencing communication style and able to diplomatically convince and persuade others whilst creating consensus.
  • Conceptual thinker experienced in performing a credible independent analysis in the creative search of new solutions and ideas.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand data in multiple formats and clearly translate these to various groups of stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence and convince senior management and Board.
  • Organizational sensitivity, clear focus, and the ability to forge strong working relationships with a view to gaining information and intelligence that is needed by CPP and in particular, information that is needed from Canon Inc.
  • Experience with managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Willing to travel.
