Print System Interaction Researcher Physics
40 hours per week, On location in Venlo (NL)
What You’ll Do
We are seeking a talented Print System Interaction Researcher Physics to strengthen our R&D teams. In this role, you will serve as the crucial link between an ink development team and other teams responsible for the development of other parts of a printing system such as fixation or printheads.
Your contributions will be vital to the creation of our products in an R&D environment. Working closely with your colleagues in the ink team, your goal is to define, deliver, and integrate the optimal ink into the printer system, ensuring a successful product. The ink's role is central to the system, influencing various performance aspects like print quality, color gamut, and jetting reliability, making this position both broad and versatile.
During the development phase, you will have access to state-of-the-art test setups for conducting experiments and system tests, helping to solve problems and define ink requirements. You will also be responsible for maintaining and updating these test setups, ensuring they remain state-of-the-art and support relevant insights contributing to the development of inks.
Your challenge as an Print System Interaction Researcher Physics
This role requires a broad range of skills and working methods. We expect you to:
- Challenge ink designers: Within the ink function, you will challenge ink designers to meet the functional requirements of test liquids. This involves developing know-how about the role and effect of ink ingredients on print aspects such as print quality or robustness of the prints and quantify those relationships through physical parameters.
- Collaborate across functions: Work closely with other multidisciplinary functions of the project to define the functional requirements for the ink, aiming to contribute to the highest possible print system performance.
- Maintain and develop test setups: Keep our test setups and measurement methods up to date. Ensure our inks can be tested to market standards with high confidence and detailed reporting.
What You Bring
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics, applied science, or a related field.
- Can translate print process requirements into desired ink behavior descriptions and that can develop physical models describing the behavior with measurable ink physical parameters.
- Is a team player in a multidisciplinary R&D environment.
- Enjoys problem-solving and performing hands-on tests on high-tech printing systems and measurement setups.
- Is fluent in English, both verbal and written.
- Is practical, analytical, goal-oriented, and quality-minded.
