Program lead - Product Safety Expert

40 hours per week, hybrid in Venlo (NL)

CPP’s R&D organization—comprising approximately 700 employees in Venlo, the Netherlands, and around 350 in Poing, Germany—relies heavily on the contributions and the support of the Product Safety & Environment (PS&E) department. The PS&E-team plays a vital role in supporting product development initiatives, with a dedicated group of experts specializing in product compliance for our high-performance print engines and inks.

The Product Quality, Safety & Environment department ensures that CPP’s products meet global legislation, regulations, and standards. Your expertise in developing compliant solutions for the industrial printing machinery market is essential. Through close collaboration with R&D Manufacturing and Service teams, you ensure that CPP’s printers, scanners, and finishing accessories are fully compliant, reliably safe, and ready for seamless production and operation.

What You’ll do

As a member of the Product Safety and Environment team, you will play a key role in supporting R&D throughout the entire machine development process, with a focus on product safety and Global Market Access (GMA) compliance.

An important part of your responsibilities will involve translating national legislation and standards into internal technical standards and design guidelines. These will serve as a foundation for CPP to develop products that meet the specific regulatory requirements of each target market.

You will take the lead as a product safety expert and act as a program lead and mentor for one of our main product platforms, ensuring that safety and compliance are embedded from concept to delivery.

You’ll be part of a small, international team of specialists within the CPP Quality & Sustainability (Q&S) organization, working closely with colleagues from R&D, Manufacturing, and Service across multiple sites.

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Global Market Access (GMA) team leadership
  • Lead the work on external certifications (e.g.UL/BG) and conformity for customer configurations of CP products in CEMEA (including inspections on customer sites).
  • Mentor of some key projects for E/M safety and environmental topics.

What you bring

We are looking for an experienced product safety professional with good networking and communication skills.

Besides that, you:

  • Master/bachelor (university level) in Mechanics/electronics/mechatronics
  • Have an expertise in E/M safety (or prepared to acquire this expertise),
  • 5-10 years’ experience with product development/engineering, or experience as a client (e.g. manufacturing engineer) or hands-on experience both qualify as experience.
  • Mentor skills (perseverance, strictness, persuasiveness, analytic, focus on details).
  • Have knowledge and experience in worldwide regulations of product safety, preferably Machinery types of products
  • Are able to work in matrix organization (dept mgr. and Program lead on Q&S side, P/M projects on R&D side)
  • Are fluent in spoken and written English
  • Are Prepared to travel between Venlo and Poing (Munich (GER)) (periods of 1 week in either office, effective outreach to R&D projects and team mates on either location) and to customer installations sites (EMEA region).

Any of the following would be interesting extra qualifications:

  • Knowledge on EU Machinery directive and/or UL775 (or equivalent)

What You’ll Get From Us
We offer you a challenging job where you collaborate with interdisciplinary and cross-functional teams throughout the value chain and the organization, and deliver direct impact on the way we assembly and manufacture our products. A unique opportunity to enhance world class manufacturing for new products in which the rules have yet to be fully defined. Furthermore we challenge you to develop and enhance a performance driven mindset for a best in class organization.

Besides a challenging working environment, scope for personal and professional development you will receive an interesting package of employment conditions;

  • A competitive salary (range €5.000- €8.000 gross per month)
  • 38 vacation days
  • Extra 13th month pay (8,6%), holiday allowance (8%) and commuting allowance
  • Hybrid working for a healthy work-life balance
  • A huge range of training and professional development opportunities
  • A laptop and smartphone
  • An interesting lease (e-)bike plan
