Assembly Operations Supervisor
40 hours per week
What You’ll Do
In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day planning, coordination and execution of the operational activities of the assembly operation. You need to be able to keep a very safe workplace for the staff, lead by example on the floor, in cooperation with your peers. Lean manufacturing is the key word of this important responsibility, continuous improvement of all processes, as well as capacity planning for your staff of approx. 20 to 30 assembly operators. These operators make sure our assemblyline is running efficiently with the right output at the right time.
The role is open for one of our premium products which allows a high level of lean manufacturing. There still continuous improvement is desired. Close cooperation with parts supply, Industrial Engineering, Equipment Engineering and Health and Safety officers is part of your daily work.
Furthermore, you’ll be responsible for:
Critical situations in the factory environment and physical and mental Health and Safety standards at industry levels. Zero incidents is our main goal and the highest priority
Setting up the short and mid-term staffing plans including skillmatrix and monitoring the continuity, so that operation flows smoothly
Discuss problems with the involved parties and solve them correctly, by using modern means and methods to come to a fast and efficient solution
Coaching, developing and motivating your team to achieve the set goals and targets
Signaling improvements, translate them into efficient proposals and implement them via working methods as LEAN manufacturing, Kaizen and 5S, participate in 8Ds where applicable
The annual Human Ressource cycles of Canon which is to generate the task settings of your staff, the development talks of your team and at the end of the year the performance reviews of each individual
Discussing new team members with other Operations Supervisors and organize a needed staff level for the orders in manufacturing and logistics
Reporting on the KPIs of your product line and propose and execute appropriate improvements on a daily base
The location is based in Venlo, you report directly to the Operations Manager.

What You Bring
We are looking for a Supervisor with strong leadership skills and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Furthermore, you meet the following requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Associate degree, preferably in a technical direction
Approximately 3 years of experience in a supervisor position, preferably within a production environment
Experience in working and acting on Key Performance Indicators
Strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
Fulltime (40 hours) available (on site)
