Supply Base Team Lead & Procurement Account Manager

40 hours per week, hybrid in Venlo (NL)

 

This position is a combined role in which you combine your people and managements skills by representing the supply base team as a Supply Base Team lead and your fulfil a Procurement Account Manager role to be directly connected to the procurement content.

As Supply Base Team lead you realize with a multidisciplinary team (Procurement, Supply Chain & Quality Assurance) that all performance targets per supplier are realized and the important suppliers programs are running: for example QLTC audits, potential supplier transfers, Risk Management and performance improvements activities. By applying for this position you will also become a Procurement Account Manager within the global procurement organization of Canon Production Printing in Venlo. Your duties will include analyzing suppliers, cost structures, procurement markets, continuous development of your supply base, and supporting R&D in new product development. With your successful contribution, you will promote flawless quality in components, availability of materials, lower costs, and seamless cooperation with suppliers.

 

What you’ll do

In this role you are challenged to contribute to the achievement of our business targets and objectives by creating a best-in-class supply base for the materials which we need to manufacture our printers. You are responsible for sourcing, supplier management, risk management and securing business continuity. You represent Procurement during all phases of the product creation process. The procurement account manager:

 

  • Develops sourcing strategies and builds and maintains long term relationships with (inter)national suppliers
  • Drives, executes and leads negotiations
  • Selects and involves suppliers in the early stages of new product developments
  • Leads Supplier Account Teams, together with your colleagues from Quality, Logistics and R&D
  • Lead a multidisciplinary Supply Base Team (QA, Supply Chain, Procurement)
  • Assures a timely balance between supplier capacity and expected market requirements
  • Manages overall procurement processes and drives for continuous improvements
  • Interacts with internal stakeholders at all levels within the organization

 

Who you’ll work with

This role is part of the global Procurement department (65 professionals), with multiple teams divided over three manufacturing and innovation centers worldwide (Venlo, Poing and Singapore) and responsible for the procurement of all products and services. The team in Venlo consists of 18 colleagues. We also increasingly work together with the Canon procurement teams in Japan and Thailand. Manufacturing and R&D are key stakeholders, responsible for the development, manufacturing and on time delivery of ‘best-in- class’ high mix low volume CPP products.

 

What you bring

We are looking for an analytic and conceptual thinker with a commercial driven, goal-oriented attitude. You are decisive, pro-active and are able to build compelling business cases. Furthermore, you meet the following requirements:

  • Master or Bachelor degree in a technical, supply chain or business direction.
  • A minimum of approximately 5 years of experience in Procurement, but we are also open to ambitious WO starters/juniors or more experienced candidates. If you have a bachelor degree, we are looking for a minimum 10 years of experience
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience in leading teams
  • Ability to collaborate with others and convince internal and external stakeholders with sound arguments
  • Excellent level in English, speaking and writing
  • Preferably an excellent level in Dutch and/or German
  • Available for 32-40 hours per week
  • Willing to travel (5-10%)
  • Experience in stakeholdermanagement
  • Able to read/interpret technical drawings
