Canon

Are you working as a professional in the supply chain environment and ready for a next step? Are you the right person to join our challenging journey to expand and innovate our supply chains?  Do you have a Bachelor or Master Degree in Supply Chain Management and do you like working in an high tech international environment?

We would love to meet you!

What You’ll Do
For a product group or groups you manage the supply chain from the material planning, production planning to finished products/ outbound process.  You are responsible for an agreed short term and long term demand and supply plan. Your plans secure availability and satisfy requirements and inventory targets. You stay in close contacts with all relevant departments within Canon Production Printing while your plans are being realized. You can easily connect to different levels in the organization, from the shopfloor to management. Other responsibilities are:

  • Timely signal bottlenecks and find solutions which you realize with other functions
  • Secure availability of raw-materials and end products together with your colleagues and suppliers
  • Work closely together with your SCM colleagues, procurement, production(engineering), quality assurance, R&D, IT, Business Units,  suppliers and customers (f.e. Canon Regional headquarters)
  • Take care of the supply chain management aspects of new product introductions, engineering changes and the phase-in/ phase-out
  • Initiate and lead improvements to processes and systems, in line with lean manufacturing concepts, inventory and process optimization.

This position is based in Venlo.

Who you’ll work with

Canon Production Printing develops, produces and distributes high-end printing systems.  The consumables department is responsible for the availability of consumables like toner, ink, printheads and expendables which are needed to keep those systems printing at our customers. The supply chain management department consists of over 20 supply chain engineers and supply chain planners which work in teams to support the various factories and product lines.

A good example

When reviewing regional demand forecasts, you see an increase in demand, while reported usage is not yet confirming a trend. Together with the business unit expected demand is verified and an updated demand plan is agreed for the next 12 months, anticipating demand increase. You prepared 2 scenario’s for decision making: one with a steep ramp-up and soonest switch from 2 to 3 shifts and one with a gradual increase that could mean a longer period with lower inventory and no shelf-life risk. After decision making you adjust the raw material plan and together with procurement discuss the increased plan with main suppliers.
