Usability Designer
32-40 hours per week, in Venlo (NL)
What You’ll Do
As a Usability Designer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our products provide an excellent user experience. Your key responsibilities will include:

Organizing and executing usability validations to assess product usability during development, with a specific focus on hardware usability testing to evaluate the user experience of integrated hardware components, such as controllers and peripherals.

Assessing ergonomic factors to optimize user comfort and efficiency and translating research findings into design solutions that address identified usability issues, enhancing user satisfaction.

Analyzing test results and effectively communicating findings to project stakeholders and design colleagues, ensuring the implementation of usability recommendations.

Collaborating closely with quality leads, project leaders, and cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and service, to create excellent user experiences.

Conducting various usability activities, including user research to understand needs and workflows, usability studies (formative and summative), and documentation (task analysis, usability study protocols/reports for regulatory submission).

Making fundamental contributions to usability-related innovations in products or processes based on research and pre-development, influencing design decisions and product strategy.
What You Bring
We are looking for someone with a passion for the end user. You are a team player with a positive drive and an independent attitude, who enjoys taking product ownership and initiative. Furthermore, you meet the following requirements:

A master’s or bachelor’s degree in Industrial Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.

Proven experience with hardware usability testing as well as a strong design background.

About 10 years of relevant work experience.

A strong portfolio demonstrating experience with usability testing, user research, ergonomic assessment, and design. We would like to receive this portfolio together with your resume and cover letter.

Knowledge of usability testing methodologies and tools, with a strong awareness of user-centered design principles.

Able and enjoy working on a large variety of projects at the same time.

You thrive in international teams and are fluent in spoken and written English. Dutch is a plus but not required.

Available for a minimum of 32 hours per week.

You are eligible to work in the Netherlands.
