Workplace Safety Expert


What You’ll Do
As one of the core experts of the department you will be active in risk assessments of our workplaces of the Venlo site. In case an incident happens, you are one of the safety experts to assist the involved department to analyze the root cause and give your expert advice about necessary measures to prevent recurrence. You are constantly looking for opportunities to uplift the safety culture in our company. Together with your colleagues you develop safe working instructions and roll them out in the organization by instructing and motivating all involved persons in the organization. One of your specialty task is to design and implement trainings that give handles to colleagues in the departments on how to work safely. 

 

You will be:
•    Instructing employees throughout the organization regarding specific safety aspects of their work
•    Executing workplace assessments / specific risk assessments
•    Analyzing incidents and ensure that the organization learns from these
•    Developing instructions and implement them in the organization

 

Who You’ll Work With
Canon Production Printing has an internal Occupational Health and Safety Department consisting of 7 professionals: safety experts, occupational hygienists, an ergonomist. We work together with the Research & Development, Manufacturing, Logistics and Support departments to ensure occupational health and safety for everyone. 

 

What You Bring
We are looking for a colleague who has:
•    Certification in Safety Science or Occupational Hygiene (IVK, MVK, MAH)
•    Preferably some years’ experience as a safety expert / occupational hygienist in an industrial environment
•    A developed sense of organizational context
•    A motivating communication style
•    Fluent in Dutch
•    Good command of the English language
 

What You Bring

  • you have a Bachelor’s or AD degree, preferably in a technical or supply chain direction
  • approximately 5 years of experience of which 2 years in a supervisor position, preferably within a warehousing and/or production environment

  • strong leadership skills
  • proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • experience in working and acting on Key Performance Indicators
  • strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
  • fulltime (40 hours) available (on site)
